About me
Marwan D. Hanania was born and raised in Amman, Jordan. He received his B.A. with Honors in Government from Cornell University, M.A. in Regional Studies: The Middle East from Harvard University, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in History from Stanford University. Marwan has taught at Stanford, Coastal Carolina University, the American University of Sharjah, the University of Nevada, Reno, San Diego Mesa College, and the OLLI Program at UC Berkeley. He is currently a Lecturer in History at Santa Clara University. His research interests and areas of focus include the modern Middle East, urban history, refugees and migration, Christian-Muslim relations, the history of Islam, the late Ottoman period, and European empires.
